  5. If the presenting author’s congress registration is not confirmed, the abstract will be automatically removed from the scientific program, and the person who submitted the abstract will not be allowed to present.
  6. By submitting the paper, the researcher(s) confirm that the work has not been previously published (in print or electronic form) or presented at another scientific meeting.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

  • The papers presented at the congress must be related to the main topics of the congress and have the potential to contribute to scientific progress.
  • Abstract submissions must be prepared using the abstract template and adhere to the writing guidelines specified in the template.
  • An oral presentation consists of the following sections: title, introduction, materials and methods, results, and conclusions. The abstracts for review papers should fully reflect their content in sections that convey introduction, development, and conclusion.
  • The abstract text in both Turkish and English should be a minimum of 300 and a maximum of 500 words (separately for Turkish and English). The text should be written in Times New Roman, 10-point font. Papers that do not comply with the sample format and writing guidelines will not be considered.
  • Abstracts should contain a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords.
  • Standard abbreviations should be used in the papers. The abbreviation should be provided in parentheses the first time the term appears and used throughout the text thereafter.
  • Turkish and English abstracts will be reviewed and scored by double-blind reviewers. Each paper will be sent to two reviewers. If both reviewers reject the paper, it will not be accepted. If one reviewer accepts and the other rejects the paper, it will be sent to a third reviewer, and the final decision will be made based on the third reviewer's evaluation.
  • Based on the scoring, papers will be categorized into oral or poster presentations (excluding optional poster presentations). The authors will be informed about the acceptance status of their paper upon completion of the review process.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in both Turkish and English.
  • Participants can present their oral presentations in either Turkish or English, according to their preference.
  • Authors must specify their presentation preference (oral or poster) during the submission process.
  • The duration of congress sessions is set at 10 minutes per presentation (eight minutes for the presentation and two minutes for questions and answers).
  • Papers that are not presented will be removed from the abstract/full text book.
  • Congress sessions will be planned for the presentation of papers on similar topics. Therefore, it is necessary to select the “Appropriate Category” for your work when submitting the abstract to organize a coherent scientific program.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • It is recommended that studies accepted as poster presentations by the Congress Scientific Review Committee be prepared in poster format with dimensions of 50cm × 70cm for presentation during the congress.
  • Posters should include the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • Studies prepared as poster presentations with Turkish or English abstracts (only one should be preferred) should be prepared using the poster presentation template, and the writing rules specified in this template should be followed.
  • Poster presentations will be prepared in Turkish or English. The text of the poster should be a maximum of 400 words.
  • Poster presentations that are not presented will be removed from the abstract book. Poster presentations will be included in the Congress Abstract Book.

Full-Text Paper Guidelines

Full-text format writing rules will be according to the APA 6 guide.

  • Full-text manuscripts should be written in accordance with the APA 6 guidelines. The full-text, excluding references, should be a minimum of 4,000 and a maximum of 6,000 words (including abstracts in both Turkish and English). Times New Roman 12-point font should be used in the manuscript. Full-text submissions that do not adhere to the sample paper format and writing rules will not be considered for evaluation.

  • Abstracts of research articles should include the sections: Aim, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion, along with Keywords. Abstracts of systematic reviews should include the sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and Keywords. Abstracts of review articles should clearly reflect the content by including sections corresponding to the meaning of Introduction, Aim, Development, and Conclusion. Abstracts of Case report should briefly describe the case, and the abstract should be structured with Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, and Conclusion sections.

  • Participants wishing to publish their work as a full-text paper should submit an updated abstract via email if any changes have been made to the initially submitted abstract.

  • Full-text submissions in Turkish or English will be reviewed and scored through a double-blind peer-review process. Each work will be sent to two reviewers. If both reviewers reject the submission, it will not be accepted. However, if one reviewer rejects and the other accepts, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer, whose decision will be final.

  • Based on the reviewers' reports, the decision to publish the full-text manuscript, request revisions, additional information, or reductions, or to reject the manuscript will be communicated to the corresponding author via email. The author(s) should complete the requested changes and submit the revised full-text manuscript through the "Paper Submission" section.

  • Authors who wish to upload a full-text for accepted papers presented at the conference should submit the full-text in Word format, following the full-text template, via the conference website (17shik.bandirma.edu.tr) through the "Paper Submission" section within the specified timeframe.

  • Submitted full-texts will be checked for plagiarism using the Turnitin program (www.turnitin.com), and the similarity report must be uploaded during the full-text submission process. The similarity rate should be below 20%.

  • If the full-text paper is supported by any institution or derived from a thesis, this must be indicated in the submitted manuscript.

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references cited in the full-text manuscript.

  • Authors submitting full-text manuscripts are deemed to have accepted the conditions and processes of the peer-review system.
